Pullback
A shallow, orderly move against the trend that respects structure. It's a rest, not a reversal. Buyers/sellers of the trend re-engage at higher/lower prices.
Reversal
A structural break — a BoS or CHoCH — with impulsive moves against the prior trend, often with wider ranges and higher volume.
Rule of thumb
If price is still making HH/HL, it's a pullback. If it prints an LL and can't reclaim, treat it as a reversal until proven otherwise.
